MEDIA SOURCES THAT COMBINE TO TWIST AND SHAPE MY VIEWS ON REALITY INCLUDE:
As a kiddo I was always surrounded by art. My father Tristan Reisfar, a surrealist wood sculptor, works with out electric tools of any kind to create twisted conjoined nude figures reminiscent of Mexican folk art. I grew up working on my own art in my dad’s studio, and went through childhood with his creations watching over me from every corner of the house. My mother, Mary Anne Campbell, is an expressionist oil painter, who studied under Wayne Thiebaud at UC Davis. I in return studied under my mom, painting beside her from the age of three. This was the extent of my training as a painter. I received no formal art education outside of public schooling.
During and after high school I gave up a tattoo apprenticeship twice (non-consecutively ) and worked as a cook in countless restaurants. I am classically trained on the viola, and played in the Central Oregon Symphony for three seasons, as well as bass and vocals in various filthy punk bands over the years, I now play bass for the thunderous high mountain lighting rod Silvero. Five years ago I attempted to give up cooking professionally, (and a steady paycheck) to pursue my life as an artist. I now live, paint and cook professionally in Portland Oregon.
